On this day in 1896 the Tootsie Roll rolled into stores in America.

R.C. Cage Caretakers:

Today is a Rocket Pride Friday.  Rocket Pride is about looking out for others.  Going through difficult times in life can be made easier when others show compassion and care for us.   If you know of someone who could use a moment of your time, a hug or a “how are you doing?”  then please show them the compassion we all have in our hearts.    Let your Rocket Pride shine by looking out for others. Be AMAZING!  GO ROCKETS!

Today is the last day to bring in Boxtops.  Thank you to everyone who could bring Boxtops in over the last two weeks!

PBIS Expectation of the Week:  Keep Your Area Clean

All winter long I was super impressed by our 2nd graders who kept their snowgear along the walls in bags.  It kept the hallway clean and looking very nice.  Keeping your area clean is about more than your desk or where you sit at lunch - the hallways are important too!  Way to go 2nd grade!

Looking forward to next week...Coming up this Sunday is a Sunday Fun Open Swim.  The swimming pool and racquet ball courts at the High School will be open on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 pm.  Students must bring an adult with them.  Come out and have some fun!  Next week is Dr. Seuss Week!  WOOHOOO!  We will celebrate with “Fox in the Socks on Monday when we will wear silly socks and on Tuesday it’s “The Sleep Book” Day - let’s wear our PJ’s!  Wdnesday is “Wacky Wednesday” so let’s dress wacky and on Thursday we will dress as our favorite Dr. Seuss Character because later that night it’s Dr. Seuss Night.  We will finish off our big Dr. Seuss week with “Cat in the Hat Day” on Friday and everyone can wear a hat!

Now I will ask everyone to please stand tall and proud, place your right hand over your heart and join our announcements leader, in saying the Pledge of Allegiance.  After we are finished with the Pledge we will get ready for our day with the “Rocket Rumble”

  • Today, what are we going to be?

  • Rocket Respectful!

  • What are we going to be?

  • Rocket Responsible!

  • What are we going to be?

  • Rocket Ready!

  • Who are we?

  • We are the Rockets!

THURSDAY

Good morning R.C. Waters!

Today is February 22, 2018

Happy “National Walking the Dog Day!”  This day combines two of the most happy-making things we have in this life: dogs and exercise. Humans love walking with their four-legged friends, and pooches love their strolls with their people. So grab your walking shoes, a leash, and some treats for the road, and take your favorite pooch for a stroll to celebrate National Walking the Dog Day!  Maybe Gilligan and I will take a little stroll after school!

PBIS Expectation of the Week:  Keep Your Area Clean

As we eat breakfast in our classrooms, please make sure to clean up your desk or table when you are done.  Trash goes into the trash can and if we have a spill, we should make sure to clean it up.  Keep your breakfast area clean RCW!

The registration forms for Rocket Little League baseball have been sent out and will be due in just a few weeks.  We now also have softball forms out too!  The Girls on the Run Program has begun and we have fliers in the office for you.

Today is our Spring Picture day.  Remember to bring your smile and we will be ready to capture the memories!

Now I will ask everyone to please stand tall and proud, place your right hand over your heart and join our announcements leader in saying the Pledge of Allegiance.  After we are finished with the Pledge we will get ready for our day with the “Rocket Rumble.”

Here is our lineup for this week’s morning announcement leaders:

PBIS Expectation of the Week:  Keep Your Area Clean

When I was thinking about this expectation the very first thing that came to my mind is to keep your area clean when you are waiting in line for the bus or as a car-rider.  You definitely want to keep everything in your bookbag so that when it’s time to go you don’t leave anything behind.  Even waiting in line is a good time to keep the area around you tidy and clean.

Do you and your family like sports? Show your Rocket pride this week by displaying positive behavior for a chance to win a 4 pack of passes to any Oak Harbor Rockets athletic event. Any student who has a discipline free week, meaning no infractions or detentions, will have a chance to win the sports passes. We will announce the winners next Monday morning! Work hard Rockets!

Now I will ask everyone to please stand tall and proud, place your right hand over your heart and join our announcements leader in saying the Pledge of Allegiance.  After we are finished with the Pledge we will get ready for our day with the “Rocket Rumble.”

PBIS Expectation of the Week:  Raise your hand when you want to talk”

As we wrap up our week reviewing this expectation, I hope that you will keep this in mind throughout the days ahead.  Raising your hand to share something with others is a sign of many things including being responsible and respectful. Keep up the good work RCW!

The registration forms for Rocket Little League baseball have been sent out and will be due in just a few weeks.  We now also have softball forms out too! The Girls on the Run Program has begun and we have fliers in the office for you.
