TUESDAY

Good morning R.C. Waters!

Today is Tuesday, November 13, 2018

Today is World Kindness Day.  This was first celebrated on November 13, 1988.  World Kindness Day is to highlight good deeds in the community focusing on the positive power and the common thread of kindness which binds us. This is a day to remember that kindness is important to everyone regardless of race religion, politics, gender and location.  In a world where you can be anything - be kind.

Congratulations to our Thursday DOJO Challenge winners:

Mr. Buckman’s class - 728 DOJO points

Mrs. Mussell’s class - 530 DOJO points

Mrs. Spangler’s - 922 DOJO points

Mrs. Sage’s class -  613 DOJO points

*Teachers please let Mrs. Lipstraw know when you would like your popcorn party. Keep up the great work boys and girls!

Mrs. Lipstraw, Nurse Glaser and I all remarked at dismissal yesterday what a great job the bus lines did of showing responsibility walking through the halls.  They were very quiet and walked in straight lines. Way to go! We are proud of you!

Bus 16 earned the most yellow Dojo tickets last week! Teachers if you have a student in your class that rides bus 16 please award them an extra 10 Dojo points. Their bus driver will also be receiving a prize. Way to go Bus 16! Let's see which bus can earn the most this week.

Today Mrs. Spangler’s 2nd graders will have a Learn With Me Day.  How exciting!

Tonight is a big night around here...not only is it Marco’s Pizza Night but it’s also a TIE meeting night complete with a fun craft!  Dinner can be super easy and support our school too. Just order from the Oak Harbor Marco’s and tell them your teacher’s name. Your class will receive credit and the class with the most will win a super yummy pizza party of their own!  Then head on over to school and make either an OSU or Michigan wreath just in time for the big game. No matter if you cheer for the Bucks or the Blue, we can all agree that our TIE group is INCREDIBLE!

Now I will ask everyone to please stand up tall and proud, place your right hand over your heart and join our announcements leader in saying the Pledge of Allegiance.  After we are finished with the Pledge we will get ready for our day with the “Rocket Rumble.”

MONDAY

Good morning R.C. Waters!

Today is Monday, November 12, 2018

Today is the observation of Veterans Day.  Veteran’s Day is always on November 11th, every year. Since that was yesterday, today is the day when the government shows appreciation for this day and we are able to recognize it here at school.  A veteran is someone who served in the military during war. You probably know one...maybe Mom, Dad, Grandpa, Grandma, aunts and uncles, neighbors: chances are there’s a veteran in your life. Veteran’s Day is a time to show them our gratitude.  Showing gratitude can be done in lots of ways.  You can honor our country’s history by reading or sharing information with others, helping our elders and those who are unable to do something for themselves and probably the easiest of all ways to show gratitude is to be kind. Tell a Veteran “thank you for your service.”  Some of our Veterans wear a hat which shows their role in the military. They are very proud and when we see someone wearing one of these hats, a nice sign of respect is to stop and thank them. Thanksgiving is the month of gratitude and Veteran’s Day is an important time to be grateful.  We are all grateful for our military and Veterans every day. Thank you for your service.
