Good morning R.C. Waters!

Today is Tuesday, October 17, 2017

Today begins “School Bus Safety Week.” Each morning I would like to offer you a few safety tips to keep in mind throughout the school year.  While waiting to get onto the bus:

  • stay away from traffic and avoid roughhousing or other behavior that can lead to an accident or injury.

  • Do not stand or walk near the street, alleys or private property

  • Line up away from the street or road as the bus approaches

Today our kindergarten friends will spend time with the high school Spanish students learning about their colors in a foreign language.  Disfrutar!

Every night in the United States an estimated 600,000 people live on the streets. This October, Third Graders at RC Waters want your help to prove that even the smallest acts of love, like donating a pair of socks, can make a big difference in the lives of our neighbors who are homeless. The Third Graders will be collecting new socks from October 16th through October 27th to donate to a local homeless shelter. This is the first of many service projects that our Third Graders will be taking part in this school year. Thank you for your generosity and for helping us teach our students the power of kindness. And so begins “Socktober!”

Here is our lineup for this week’s morning announcement leaders:

Here’s a “Healthy Tip for your Tuesday”… never share a drink, water bottle ot silverware with others.  Keep your germs and your drinks to yourself!

There will be a BLT meeting at 3:15 today.

R.C. Cagetakers:

It’s another swim lesson night at the HS Pool.  We have more information on the BCS website if you are interested.  Swimming is great exercise and a fun way to make new friends.

Here’s an idea of kindness for your Tuesday…help someone else with their reading.  Helping others is the best show of kindness!  Share your love for reading and some kindness today!

As we begin another beautiful day here at RCW, I will remind you to always be:

  • Ready

  • Responsible

  • Respectful

And now I will ask you to please stand tall and proud, place your right hand over your heart and say the Pledge of Allegiance along with today’s leader.
