FRIDAY

Good morning R.C. Waters!

Today is Friday, October 20, 2017

Sunday is “National Nut Day.”  National Nut Day is observed annually on October 22. This food holiday celebrates a healthy and nutritious snack.  Nuts are a highly prized food and energy source and are a primary source of nutrients for both humans and wildlife.  “GO NUTS” on National Nut Day!

BIRTHDAYS

Today is a Rocket Pride Friday.   It is important to be appreciative of the opportunities we have here in our school district.  We have amazing staff members, beautiful buildings, great activities and sports and so much more to be grateful for.  Appreciate what you have and show your Rocket Pride!  GO ROCKETS!

Today may be the final day of “School Bus Safety Week” but it doesn’t mean that being safe on the school bus is done.  School bus safety is important each and every day.  Here are today’s safety tips. When getting off the bus:

  • If you have to cross in front of the bus, first walk at least 10 feet ahead until you can see the driver

  • Make sure the driver can see you

  • Wait for a signal from the driver before crossing

  • When the driver signals, look left, right, then left again. Walk across the road and keep an eye out for sudden traffic changes

R.C. Cagetakers:

It looks like Mrs. Lutz’s class will have a “Learn With Me” day today.  How fun!  Enjoy!

Looking forward to next week.... Tuesday the Heidelberg Theatre group will entertain us all with a Junie B. Jones presentation.  Later that afternoon there will be a staff meeting.  Next Thursday is fall picture retakes for those who were absent or need their photos retaken.  Thursday night is the Halloween in the Halls event at the High School from 6-7:30 pm.

Here’s your kindness idea for the day...if you are at a party or event and see someone who is sitting quietly by themselves, make a point to talk to them.  They may need a kind word and a friend.  You can offer them both.

As we begin another beautiful day here at RCW, I will remind you to always be:

  • Ready

  • Responsible

  • Respectful

Now I will ask you to please stand tall and proud, place your right hand over your heart and say the Pledge of Allegiance with today’s leader.  After we finish with the Pledge, he will lead us in singing the Fight Song!  GO ROCKETS!
