Good morning R.C. Waters!

Today is Friday, September 26, 2014

Today is Rocket Pride Friday!  Rocket Pride means cheering for Oak Harbor teams and student-athletes, not against our opponents.  That means that we should cheer for the Rockets and not boo or be mean to the team they are playing.  Last week the varsity football team played Port Clinton.  Whenever we play Port Clinton, it’s always very exciting.  I am proud that our players, parents and students behaved very respectfully and showed a lot of Rocket Pride.  We should always do that no matter who the Rockets are playing against.  That is great Rocket Pride.

The auditions for the Apple Festival Talent Show are coming up this Sunday at Riverview Healthcare Campus.  Forms are in the lobby.  The show is always filled with very exciting acts and is fun to watch.

Looking ahead to next week…Apple Run forms are due to the Chamber of Commerce office by Monday to guarantee that you get a t-shirt. The Red Cross will be here in the morning on Monday to give us more information about the upcoming Blood Drive.  Monday is the last day to wear shorts to school. Starting on Tuesday we cannot wear shorts until springtime. There will be a staff meeting before school on Tuesday morning.  (I need to remember this myself!)  On Thursday the staff will gather once again for snacks after school from 3:10-4:00.  The next day is very exciting!  First and foremost, it’s Rocket wear spirit day!  Wear your red & green with lots of Rocket Pride!  The 3rd graders will be traveling to the Carroll Fire Department for their fire safety day!  Thanks to the emergency services personnel who will be assisting them in their day of learning.  At 1:30 Friday afternoon, the world famous Oak Harbor High School Marching Band will be playing for us here at R.C. Waters in celebration of homecoming!  That night the mini-twirler camp participants will show what they learned as they perform at the homecoming football game!  What a great week!

Speaking of next week, I am very excited to announce that R.C. Waters will participate in Spirit Week! This is the week that leads up to the homecoming game and dance at the High School and it's a great time to show our RocketPride! Everyone has a yellow sheet to take home with the schedule for the week - I would put that on your refridgerator so you can see what the theme is for each day.

Here's what we have planned: Monday = Pajama Day or Sweats Day, Tuesday = Western Day (calling all cowboys & cowgirls), Tuesday = Wacky-Tacky Day (crazy socks, ties, nerdy glasses), Thursday = Camo or Neon Colors Day and Friday = Rocket Spirit Wear Day. GO ROCKETS!!

Make the day & your weekend great R.C. Waters!
