Good morning R.C. Waters!

Today is Monday, September 29, 2014

It’s “Word of the Month Monday!”  This is the final day to discuss “responsibility” before moving into October when we will talk about “courage and confidence.”  As we wrap up responsibility I ask that our students remember this word as they grow up.  I want you to take responsibility for your future.  Keep up with your homework and study for your tests.  Be responsible for your future at school.  Whatever it is that you would like to be when you grow up, you need to try your best in school today and every day after this one.  Be responsible and your future will be bright!

Today is the first day in our “Spirit Week” and I am very excited for it!  Spirit Week is a fun week.  Today is pajama or sweats day - doesn’t that go really well with a fog delay day!  Tomorrow is Western Day!  Pull out those jeans, flannel or western shirts, maybe a cowboy hat or your boots.  I love it!  GO ROCKETS

Congratulations to this school year’s first Marco’s Pizza Night Challenge winner….from the 2nd grade….it’s Miss McKee’s class! They will receive a pizza party in their honor very soon!  Way to go!

For our Joke of the Day selection

A representative from the Red Cross will be here today to talk with students about the blood drive coming up soon here at school.

Apple Run forms are due today and should be turned in to the Chamber of Commerce office.  Ready, set go!

Starting on October 1st - October 14th, the 3rd graders will be collecting socks for “Socktober.”  There are 600,000 people without a home on any given night in the United States. Donating a pair of socks seems like a very small act but it can make a big difference to someone who needs them or someone who is homeless.

Remember - tomorrow means one more day tomorrow in September and then it’s October.  We will say goodbye to shorts and hello to colder weather.

Make the day great R.C. Waters!!
