Good morning R.C. Waters!
Today is Thursday, December 7, 2017
Today is Pearl Harbor Day. Pearl Harbor is located in Hawaii on the island of O'ahu. Hawaii is located in the Pacific Ocean between California and Japan. During the time of World War II, Hawaii was not a state, but a US territory. Pearl Harbor Day is a time to remember and learn about the events that happened Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941. Japanese airplanes made a surprise attack on the US Navy in Pearl Harbor. They destroyed many ships. It was this attack that forced the United States to enter World War II. December 7, 1941 was a very important day in our country’s history.
The “Ties & Tiaras Daddy-Daughter Dance” is coming up next week. From 6:00-8:30 on December 15 at the High School the evening will include dancing, desserts and games to make lots of memories.
Speaking of kindness...this idea is better suited for spring and summer but it’s always a good time to plan ahead. Plant a tree or flowers in an area that needs it. Bring color where it is missing.
As we begin another beautiful day here at RCW, I will remind you to always be:
Now I will ask you to please stand tall and proud, place your right hand over your heart and say the Pledge of Allegiance with today’s leader.
