Good morning R.C. Waters!
Today is Tuesday, September 30, 2014
Welcome to Western Day to all of our cowboys and cowgirls! I love today - give me a good pair of comfortable boots and jeans - yeehaw! Tomorrow is Wacky-Tacky Day. That means where any combination of colors, socks, shirt, tie, nerdy glasses...whatever you would like! Just make sure you have fun!
It’s Healthy Tip Tuesday! Here’s something to think about as the weather gets colder...before thinking about the clothes, realize that food supplies heat to the body; the clothes provide protection so that it isn’t wasted. Make sure you eat a good meal before spending an extended amount of time outdoors in winter. It’s great that we have lunch before recess. Time to refuel our bodies and warm them up too!
On this day in history, in 1927 – Babe Ruth became the first baseball player to hit 60 home runs in a season. On September 30, 1935 - The Hoover Dam, which extends acorss the border between the states of Arizona and Nevada, is dedicated by President Roosevelt. And finally in 1960, the Flintstones premiered. It was the first cartoon shown during the “prime time” hours of 8:00-11:00 pm. September 30 is a very important day in history.
Make the day great R.C.Waters!
