Healthy Tip Tuesday

I have to say that I am super impressed by the amount of students who listened and remembered the information I shared last week about Q-tips used in ears.  Remember, healthy tip Tuesday is about good information but we still should respect what our parents say.  I am very proud to hear that so many of you paid such great attention.  For today’s tip, let’s talk about the benefits of tying our shoes.  I have a friend in 3rd grade who never tied his shoes until last year.  He always walked around with his laces loose and falling all over.  He and I talked quite a bit about this last year.  I told him that I was worried that he might trip and fall over his shoelaces.  I also shared with him the idea that he looks more presentable and ready for any challenges that come his way when he has his shoes tied nice and neat.  My friend made the choice to tie his shoes everyday and I could see the confidence in his smile when he would stop by to tell me about it.  I am very proud of him.  Tying our shoes may not seem like a healthy tip but it really is.  Take a moment to look down - if your shoes are untied please go ahead and tie them or ask for help to do so.  There’s your healthy tip for Tuesday R.C. Waters!

Coming up on Thursday, February 26 is Jeans Day!  February 26th is the birthday of Mr. Levi Strauss, the man who invented jeans.  Let’s all wear jeans in his honor on Thursday!

Make your day great R.C.Waters!
