SCHOOL DAY BEGINS AT 8:00 A.M.
DISMISSES AT 2:55 FOR CAR RIDERS/WALKERS 2:55 FOR BUSES
Safety – Students are not permitted to enter the school until 7:45 a.m. (including walkers and bike riders). Please make sure that your child does not arrive to school prior to 7:45 as no supervision is provided until then. All doors are locked prior to the start of school and throughout the day. Parents are asked to use the front door by the office when coming in between 7:45 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Dropping Off & Picking Up Students Before and After School – When coming on to school property to drop off and pick up students ONLY USE the front drive. Parents should use Maple Street to enter and leave R.C. Waters. Buses will use Ottawa Street for both.
Shuttle Bus at the Middle School – Students riding the shuttle from the Middle School to RC Waters in the morning will be picked up around 7:40 a.m. If your child rides the shuttle bus from RC Waters to the Middle School, pick up time will be 3:00. If you are not there, your child will be brought back to R. C. Waters Elementary and you can pick them up from the school office. Late Arrival / Early Dismissals – Students arriving after the 8:00 a.m. bell must report to the office with their parent. The parent must sign their child in or out when arriving late or leaving early. Please send a note to school if your child will be leaving early.
Changes in Dismissal of Your Child – If your child will not be going home in their usual manner, a written note stating the specific change must be sent to school with your child. Due to the high volume of phone calls and activity in the office, it is difficult to manage phone calls regarding changes in ways to go home.
Absences -- Please call the school (419.898.6219) prior to 8:00 a.m. to inform us of your child's absence. We do have an answering machine for your convenience when the office is closed.
Forgetting Homework / Books – If you child forgets their homework or any books that are needed for the next day assignments, they may come back to school before 3:45 p.m. to get them. They must come to the office before going to their classroom.
Lunch – The lunch price for elementary students is $2.10 (includes milk) and extra milk is $.50, juice will be $.75.
Breakfast – Breakfast will be served from the time the students enter until 8:05 am. The cost is $1.40. If you do not want your child to eat breakfast at school, please send a note with your child.
Free or Reduced Lunch / Breakfast – Application forms will be sent home on the first day of school. If you think you may qualify, please complete the form and return it to the school office as soon as possible. Applications are available in the school office anytime throughout the school year should your financial status change. Students who qualify for free or reduced lunches also qualify for free or reduced breakfasts.
