Talented and Gifted

The Benton-Carroll-Salem School District believes every student deserves an education that facilitates maximum learning. We also recognize that some students exhibit outstanding abilities, talents, and potential for accomplishment. These particular students require special programming to meet their educational needs.

The district encourages, fosters, and supports educational efforts for its talented and gifted population. We accomplish this by collaborating with the North Point Educational Service Center. Gifted specialists from the North Point ESC work directly with the identified talented and gifted students in the district. The goal of our gifted intervention program is to offer appropriate and challenging learning opportunities for students in order to develop their unique talents.

Identification and Referral Process

The BCS school district along with the North Point Educational Service Center established a process to identify talented and gifted students. We ensure equal access to screening and assessment for all students residing in the district regardless of culture, socioeconomic background, disability or native language.
